Master Of My Domain takes the everyday and transforms it into the uniquely personal. We create environments through our personal purchasing history. Most of the objects we fill our environments with are purchases that hold utility to our hobbies, jobs or both. In this way they also become iconography of our identity. In the Master Of My Domain portrait series I first take candid images of the subjects in their own homes, as they appear when I arrive. Without having been previously informed of the second part, they are then given one hour to create a super hero/villain out of just the objects in their home, after which time I photograph them again. In the process the subject shares an insight into how they view their identity as it manifests in the physical world.
